Brown short boot. This boot was copied from an original issue boot made in 1861 and kept on a mannequin in a museum. This is closer to the color of the original boot we possess. But this is likely due to fading of the original. The boot style goes back farther than 1861 being made of two pieces. The date we used was the year the display went up at the museum. The lip at the front of the boot was used to keep your trousers up and out of the muck. Later used in the mining fields of the west. Smooth and rough out.
